This year will be Powwebs 10 year anniversary. They moved up the ranks, and have finally made it on to our list, mainly due to their service improving. Hopefully this year we will see them take on the big boys, as they do have the potential to compete quite fiercely at the top. Their data-centers are based in Minnesota, Los Angeles, Texas and Washington.

They've kept things real simple, by offering only one web hosting plan, they are able to keep prices down. However this plan offers everything you would need to start up your online presence, at the same time eliminating a lot of the confusion that comes with web hosting. There's not much that makes them stand from the rest, however if their support and uptime improved just a little, they would become an excellent contender towards the other top hosts.

Support, although lacking at times, when we finally do get through, the person on the end is very friendly and prompt to answer our questions. There have been very few instances were we've had to call back, either through frustration or being left on hold.

Performance 94%

The performance of our website was very average, but satisfactory. Nothing to write home about it, what did bother us a bit was our uptime, or downtime we should rather say. Our test websites have not been accessible for periods much longer than we would like. Powweb says they are addressing the problem, but we think it is due to overcrowding.

Software 87%

Powweb utilizes a custom control panel, allowing you to make many changes to your website from one interface. Although very easy to use, and very responsive, we found that it lacked more advanced features that we know you will come to expect later down the road.
