Review of iPower

iPower is one of the worlds largest hosts, incredibly hosting over 700 000 websites! As we've noticed with Yahoo, bigger isn't always better, and sadly it's their support that is taking a hit. They are on our list, as they do provide excellent value when it comes to Windows hosting, and if you can do without the technical support and need to implement ASP and .NET look no further than iPower.

We setup an iPower Pro Plan over a year ago, which is one of their simplest plans, but offers a lot of features than what you generally get from other hosts. They now currently offer unlimited bandwidth and disk space, making it more appealing but their biggest draw card is their ASP and .NET support. No other hosts provides these features at this price, and it is one the main reasons iPower has been included on our list.

As we've mentioned before, support from iPower is extremely lacking, which is very disappointing as we believe they still have so much potential. On numerous occasions we have been left on hold, having to hangup and call back to try and get a query answered. Their live chat is not much help either, usually getting some canned response, with the chat being terminated?

Performance 87%

Our test websites generally performed very well, however they have been very inconsistent as you can see in our tests. This is probably one of the main reasons we battle to get through on support, as many others must be experiencing the same thing! Uptime, wasn't up to par either, we expected a little bit more.

Software 79%

iPower uses vDeck, we would have preferred cPanel, but that's not up to us. It performed relatively ok compared to our website, and we were able to run through our routine tests fairly quickly.
