Finding your Perfect Niche
When searching for a niche you need to ask yourself the following questions:
- Are you passionate about this niche, do you find yourself constantly thinking about it?
- Do you know it inside out, can you discuss it for hours on end?
- Is there demand for your niche, do others share your enthusiasm for it?
- What options do you have in monetizing you niche?
- If you not very knowledgeable about your niche, can you commit time to researching it?
Being passionate about your niche is one of the most important aspects in turning it into a success. Putting it bluntly, if you are not passionate about your niche, your potential customers are not going to be interested in what you have to offer. Any correspondence or content will eventually come across as dry and dull. Your passion is also your number one motivator! Thinking about how much you may make with a certain niche is not enough. If you are not making anything, money is not going to drive you forward. Passion, will help you get through those rough patches.
Secondly, you have to be extremely knowledgeable about your niche, the great thing here is that if you are passionate about it, this won't be much of a problem. On the other hand, research information that you are not interested in can become a real chore, and add heavily to your chances of not succeeding.
Monetizing your Niche Website
Your niche website can take the form of offering your visitors unique products and services, or simply unique and interesting content. Be aware that if you are offering services, you are narrowing your market to your local area; make sure that you have enough interested potential customers if you go this route. Products can be shipped worldwide, vastly improving the amount of clients you can target. If you are only offering unique content, make sure that your users do find it interesting. You will start noticing repeat visitors, if they realize the content you provide is of value to them and is frequently updated. Once you in this position, you can start monetizing your site, by placing ads or affiliate links to products related to your niche, I will discuss this in detail in a later article.
